Counterstrain and facilitated positional release is a gentle indirect technique that addresses tenderpoints, which are small areas of tenderness due to injury that results in strained muscles, tendons or ligaments. Often, you are unaware that the tenderpoints exist until Christine applies light pressure that feels disproportionately painful.
Rather than working directly on the tenderpoint, Christine may apply counterstrain and position your body to a point of balance that she feels for, allowing the tenderpoint to release, and restoring muscle and tendon mobility.
